Growing up in Northeastern Pennsylvania, Alex began wandering at an early age, finding an interest and love for the outdoors, both scientifically and athletically. In the summer of '99, Alex started exploring northern Utah by foot and bike. He earned a B.S. in Horticulture and a M.S. in Plant Science from Utah State University, studying plants from throughout Utah’s diverse ecosystems. This quickly led to the next 16 years of ultra-marathon racing, endurance mountain biking, adventuring and exploring the western hemisphere, looking for remote and adventurous places. From skiing the southern Andes to mountaineering the Canadian Rockies; surfing the Central American coast to stand up paddle surfing in Maui; and canyoneering in southern Utah to mountain biking in Kansas, Alex has found his home wherever the trailhead begins. Volunteering for the Utah Avalanche Center (Level II certified) and the Canyons Volunteer Ski Patrol (First Aid, CPR, Outdoor Emergency Care and Wilderness First Responder Certified), Alex learned quickly about the risks and chances in the great outdoors and what it means to keep it safe.  Alex currently resides in Park City, Utah writing for the Utah Adventure Journal; guiding, and owns a landscape business.

Originating in Southern Vermont, Tina is the youngest of 3. The drive to always keep up with her siblings fostered a love for challenging herself both mentally and physically. Tina’s adventurous side got the taste of traveling in college; studying abroad in Australia, driving the south island of New Zealand and climbing in Mexico. After earning a B.A. in Psychology she moved west in search of larger mountains and more snow. Landing in Utah, Tina has spent her winters at Snowbird and Park City as an alpine ski race coach working with teenagers. She has worked with Black Diamond Equipment Ltd., Callaway Golf, served tables, taught yoga and many other jobs to fund her adventurous lifestyle. Yoga came into Tina’s life early, as a young athlete, and the passion for the practice has grown ever since. In 2009 she completed her 600hr Yoga Teacher Training with D’ana Baptiste at Centered City Yoga, and currently teaches at The Mine Bouldering Gym in Park City, UT. On top of being First Aid, CPR and Wilderness First Responder certified, Tina recently ventured south to learn about saving people from precarious situations.  The spring of 2015, Tina partook in an American Canyoneering Association Ropes Rigging and Rescue multi-day workshop. Growing up in a household where meals, and time around the table were an integral part of every day, food has always been important. Tina believes a meal is a creative expression, and she enjoys showcasing vibrant colors of fresh vegetables and spices, paired with grains, wines or whiskey!
